John Mulaney Looks Back on "Mulaney"
"It couldn't have been more well intentioned, but it was a trainwreck.
I never disagree with a critic who says that they don't like something, but when it's everyone saying something sometimes I do wonder if there is some group think going on." http://ew.com/tv/2017/10/05/nick-kro...vemen-mulaney/ |

I think the failure of Mulaney can be summed up in how much was taken from taken from John's stand-up. Granted, a lot of stand ups have done this in their sitcoms (e.g. Bill Cosby, Roseanne Barr, Jerry Seinfeld, Tim Allen, Ray Romano, etc.), but it seemed more obvious with the prevalence of Netflix. Also, John Mulaney is far too wooden of a straight man actor.
