Is former Let's Make A Deal star Carol Merrill still living? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Ever since the original Let's Make A Deal went off the air I have often wondered if Carol Merrill who was the original model of the show is still alive? Because the last time I saw Carol Merrill was when she appeared at the GSN Game Show Awards and she was retired from TV and is now living in Australia. It's hard to believe that Carol Merrill is the lone survivor of the original Let's Make A Deal since Monty Hall passed away in October and announcer Jay Stewart died in 1989. Is Carol Merrill still alive and what is she doing now?

Yes she is according to Wikipedia. I have no idea where Carol Merrill been up to today.

Carol Merrill is still living after all? That's surprising because when I saw Carol on the GSN Game Show Awards she looked fabulous and she was amazing giving a speech about Let's Make A Deal. I wonder how Carol Merrill felt when Monty Hall passed away because I knew she and Monty Hall were very best friends throughout Let's Make A Deal's run in the 60's. It would be so neat to see Carol Merrill appear in a future Let's Make A Deal episode with Wayne Brady someday. Wouldn't that be so cool to see?

Hi, Bestie! Carol was a true pioneer in the game show industry. Vanna White owes her entire career to her. She was one of the first and certainly the best of the hostesses who highlighted prizes, games, etc. I heard she died a while back but I could be wrong. Thank you for reminding us of a person who was at least as important to modern game shows as any host was.
