Dick Sargent's series "One Happy Family" airing on Decades...!
Dick Sargent's early '60s series One Happy Family has aired on the Decades channel -- there were several episodes on between about 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. early this morning. Jody Warner co-starred as his stunning young wife. Sargent did well in his role. He was quite slender at that time obviously, with a shorter and slicked-back haircut than we're used to seeing him with. It was a funny show with a lot of gentle put-downs and quips.
The prints were generally good, suffering only from some common problems like brightness/contrast in need of adjustment, occasional debris, and blips of bright spots. In the past, Decades has also aired Sargent's episode of The Millionaire (in which he played a milkman). |

Wow. This is one show I thought would never be seen again.

I wish I could get Decades at home. There is an affiliate in my area, but my digital antenna can't pull it into my tv.
You can see the opening credits here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ql5srFpPo0Y I have an old book from the 1990s which stated that this show was (at the time) available on home video. I haven't searched for it on DVD, but if it is, it may likely be in public domain. |

A while back, Decades did a weekend binge featuring a mixture of obscure TV series. I don't know if any One Happy Family eps were included, as I missed most of the stuff they ran.
I guess it's not unusual to have a show about 3 generations under one roof, but in this one, all three are intact couples. On others, there's maybe one grandparent. Fans of The Andy Griffith Show may be interested to see regular cast member Cheerio Meredith, who played the character being given sugar pills as a placebo at the Mayberry drugstore. |

Yeah Biff it was great to see Cheerio in continuing role. I did see the few episodes that Decade aired but found the show a little flat. |
