Fans of Jem and the Holograms/The Misfits/The Stingers

Seems like it's been a while since anyone started a thread about this show. Any fans of any or all of the bands?

I LOVED Jem And The Holograms when I was a kid and would watch it every time I would return from school and I even dressed up as Jem for Halloween once and now that I have the series on DVD I love it even more. My favorite band was Jem And The Holograms and I think that in my eyes Shana should've never taken the chance to be a clothes designer for the famous movie star in the first episode of Season 2 of Jem but when The Holograms added Raya to the band she was a breath of fresh air and was a nice drummer. But one thing I never figured out and still can't figure out about Jem is when The Stingers arrived in Season 3 every time that Riot would appear it seemed that Jem had a huge crush on him and why did she like Riot when Jem already had Rio as her crush? I also liked the Misfits but I felt that Pizzazz always wanted to be the center of attention and I liked her tough attitude as well. But when Jetta debuted in The Misfits in Season 2 I thought she was cool and I just liked her British accent and it seemed that she also had an attitude like Pizzazz at times. I am glad this thread was created because I never knew there was another Jem fan like me

Hi Bestie,

I'm glad to find another fan too! Like you I watched the show after school, then had to record it every day when my local station switched the time to 7:30 in the morning, and now have the DVD sets. I like that the DVDs have the songs/music videos as a special feature.
My faves were the Misfits, but all of the bands had some great songs. From Jem and the Holograms I especially like "Who Is He Kissing" and "You'll Never Win My Love."
I like Raya too. She's an under appreciated character. Her shyness and doubt of her own talent were a nice relief from the other more confident ladies.
Jem was kinda cheating on Rio with Riot, but then again, Rio was never sure if his girlfriend was a Jem or Jerrica. They should have let him in on the secret at some point.
Plus I love the fashions! It was one of the few cartoons where people realistically wore more than one outfit. Granted, part of the reason was to promote the doll fashions, but there were a lot of awesome fashions created only for the cartoon, too!
