Tomorrow and Wed., 7/25 and 7/26, they are showing Season 6 episodes (which in itself is a rarity), and starting Thurs. 7/27, they appear to be showing all of season 8 (they have them scheduled in order thru Mon. 8/7)
Of course, this leads me to wonder why they skipped most of season 6 and all of season 7. I'd like to think they just aren't ready yet, and we'll see them later... |

I'm going to enjoy seeing Season 8. I wonder why only show two episodes from season 6 and none of season 7? That does seem odd.

Very interesting. Donna Reed's estate syndicates the first five seasons, and Sony has the rights to the final three. The season 8 episodes have the modern Sony logo at the end. As for the lack of season 6 and 7 episodes, I can only imagine that because those were never syndicated (season 8 was indeed part of the syndication package in the 70s-90s) there is a royalty issue involved and Sony doesn't want to deal with paying residuals to the actors or their estates.

Yeah, and they're old syndication edits (lousy), as well. They were well-mastered originally, though--the quality is pretty good. So they tacked the new Sony logo onto end, and called it a day.
They showed about 3 season 6 episodes--can't figure that one out. |
