I've long been a fan of both the original and new The People's Court series. In the two shows, there have been four Judges:
1. Joseph A. Wapner 2. Ed Koch 3. Jerry Sheindlin 4. Marilyn Milian Who is your favorite Judge? All four Judges had their own distinct styles. All four would yell and reprimand when necessary, but their personalities were still very different. Here is my take on each: Wapner: By far the most stoich and well-balanced of them all. He gets right down to business and interacts with the litigants in a calm and fair way. The odd time, a joke comes out but most of the time he is not very dramatic. Koch: By far the most courteous of them all. He greets each litigant with a "Good Day" when arriving and speaks to each behaving litigant in a very friendly way. Sheindlin: By far the meanest and serious of them all. He is very direct and is his demeanor and speaking style can be intimidating. Milian: By far the most dramatic of them all. Though not exactly mean like Sheindlin, she speaks a lot and is not afraid to show any strong emotions of any kind. If I had to choose one that I liked the most, I'll stick with the original Wapner as I felt demeanor is well-balanced like that of a good Judge. Koch was too friendly, and Sheindlin and Milian were too mean. What do you think? |

Milian--in many cases you have to be mean to get through to those people!

Wapner was my favorite
I enjoy watching Millian and Sheindlin was also very good. Koch was the only people's court judge that sucked. |

Joseph Wapner. He was just so down to earth, that he made the show be able to be taken more seriously. To Huntington M15 regarding Milian, I'm sure she wouldn't have to be so dramatic if the producers would just book smarter litigants. Unfortunately, however, they're trying to make the show more like Jerry Springer and less like CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite.
