Default Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Audience Contestants?

On today's Who Wants To Be A Millionaire episode I noticed that towards the end of the episode Chris Harrison picked a member of the studio audience to participate in the show as an Audience Contestant and after they get picked Chris gives them a chance to answer a question and so I would like to know if anyone has noticed this before? Is this something Who Wants To Be A Millionaire does when the show runs short on time on rare occasions? Also do the Audience Contestants win a prize if they answer the question correctly?

On today's Who Wants To Be A Millionaire episode I found out what the people who are picked to be Audience Contestants win. Audience Contestants get $10,000 for correct answers and I think it's a really great prize to win. I can honestly say Who Wants To Be A Millionaire is a lot of fun to watch every morning and Chris Harrison is a really great host and is so funny with his sense of humor and wonderful interaction with the contestants

Yes on many shows dating back to when Meredith Viera hosted, when the current winner lost on his last answer, they would randomly have a audience member get a chance to win $1,000. Not $10,000. This would happen when they only had 3 or minutes at the end of the show. I tend to think the audience members all fill out cards, or either have a seat number and that is how the audience member is chosen.

Oh so that's how the Audience Contestants part of the game works. Because I am new to Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and I have been watching the show for two weeks now every morning because GSN no longer had Catch 21 being shown at noon anymore and I just fell in love with the show. Thank you so much for the interesting fact Coffeecup you are really full of knowledge about game shows

Another thing I've noticed about Who Wants To Be A Millionaire after they do their Audience Contestant segment when a contestant gets a question right Chris Harrison does a fun way of counting how much money the contestant has won and when he does it the rest of the audience likes to chant along with him. I think it's really funny and cute and Chris Harrison shows his fun sense of humor and everytime I see the end it makes me laugh each time
