I read that blog and it brought back a lot of memories.
When the show got off of its political soapbox/lecture circuit it could be hilarious. I thought it was so much better when it was character driven rather than when it amounted to "how can we be topical this week? How many conservatives can we make fun of? How many times can the characters who reflect the creator Diane English's political beliefs have the moral high ground in every episode? Season six was a good season. It became less of a political diatribe and more of a true workplace comedy again like it was in the first couple of seasons. |

I've only seen Season 1 and a bit of Season 2 but I can say, by seeing those episodes, at least in those, MB is a sitcom with a lot of class. It's sad when a sitcom(essentially all of them) become a political soap opera. You already read and hear about it on the news enough, no need to get it rammed down your throat while you're trying to enjoy a sitcom.
