If you notice, every hit show the Wayans family members were in began in mid season and ran 5 seasons and then got cancelled. I guess that the networks involved didn't want to renew after 5 seasons as this would involve renegotiating contracts and paying people more money and all of those shows were beginning to drop in the ratings by that point anyway. MArlon at least was beginning to make a name in movies so that may have been another factor.

The Wayans Brothers have done really well since the show ended.

Yes, they know how to make money off of their movies plus the residuals from the reruns of their shows. Wayans Brothers is on BET now. Marlon seems to have a bit more talent than Shawn though.

Hmmm, let's see what they did since their show ended. They starred in various versions of the mediocre "Scary Movie", 'White Chicks" and "Little Man" They keep this up, they will be soon be commanding $20 million per movie.

I think they should do like their eldest brother Keenan. One of few Wayans I have any respect for. They should go into directing, in other words, get behind the camera and stay there!

I always thought the ratings went south as it was pulled in Feb 1999 and brought back in late April 1999. Usually, when that happens to a long running show, you know time is up. They could have at least gave them a goodbye show since it was one of the first sitcoms on the new network at the time.

Well On an episode of 106&park when damon wayons was on he said shawn was very funny but he is always focusing on being a pretty boy other than funny.

The show was cancelled because The WB sucked. The WB cancelled a lot of great shows without giving them a proper series finale. If you noticed during the first Scary Movie, Shawn's character makes a reference to The Wayans Bros. being cancelled.

You know, I wouldn't be surprised by this. I always felt Marlon was more talented then Shawn. Did you ever see Requiem for A Dream? Shawn does come off a pretty boy while Marlon comes of more natural.

Well i'm guessing there was a fight with the network, the same thing happened with fox when they had in living color going. Or it could be because wb wanted to make a change and canceled them for no reason(it happens sometimes) Wayne Bros is awesome and i think the network made a huge mistake.

I agree Kool.

Keenan and Damon made me in IN LIVING COLOR but the rest of the brothers... Even MY WIFE AND KIDS was an awesome show. I love to watch it in reruns.

I think the reason why the WB network abruptly canceled "The Wayans Bros."--along with "The Parent 'Hood" and "Sister, Sister"--in the spring of 1999 is because network executives wanted to focus more on attracting teenage and young adult viewers. Thanks to the successes of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer," "7th Heaven," and (especially) "Dawson's Creek," the WB had become the epicenter for "teen TV" by the 1998-99 season ("Charmed" and "Felicity" both premiered on the WB in the autumn of 1998). Granted, "The Jamie Foxx Show" and "The Steve Harvey Show" were the only other urban-oriented programs airing on the WB, but for the most part, teen dramas were the main draw on that network.
