Ugh, I don't get Antennae, but I saw a lot of the show when it first debuted. It was a very funny show with terrific characters.

I think of Dear John as somebody's idea of another version of Taxi, with Judd Hirsch as the reasonable character who must act as a sounding board for all of the eccentric characters around him. I don't understand why the group is called the 1-2-1 club when it is a group session, or what Louise's qualifications are to lead it, but if I watch enough episodes on METV, maybe I'll figure it out. I never liked the Kirk character, and I can say as someone who lived some of the worst years of my life in Rego Park that there is no Rego Park Community Center. My favorite episode is "Louise the hero," in which the community center is going to close without an influx of cash and Louise says she knows someone who'll put up the money. Then the group discovers she was hospitalized for manic depression after her crazy scheme to get Queen Elizabeth to stop her from being divorced fell through, and that she plans to get the money to save the center from Mischa the Munchkin and Natasha the tatooed lady.

I think the numbers are a reference to the members' stations in life as first a single person (1), then one half of a couple (2), then single again after being widowed or divorced (1). So, "1-2-1".

I think she probably doesn't have "certified qualifications", but she is a person who is very organized and structured and wanted to found such a group, so she did.
