Do you have a list of all the DVDs you are going to get? It's really helpful to make one.

Wow! Some of you have not been able to get some of the DVD sets released 2 or more years ago. I got Gimme a Break years ago along with The Facts of Life, The Jeffersons and Maude. Not judging just wondering why some have not gotten copies yet.

If it is a financial issue I am sure these sets are bootlegged on iOffer and Sell.com for 20 - 30 bucks a set which is a lot cheaper than buying them from a website like Amazon or Shout Factory.

A reviewer on Amazon wrote:

1. The cases don't even stay shut.
2. The cases are labeled "1&3" and "4&6" instead of "1-3" and "4-6".
3. The quality would suggest that the DVD's were made before there was such a thing as high definition.
4. The series finale was edited. They completely changed the ending by cutting out the part where Roger sings at Lisa's wedding.
5. The artwork looks like it was designed by a 3-year-old.

Also, Amazon says at the time of pasting:

Currently unavailable.
We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock

I bought the last one they had yesterday, so it's currently unavailable because of me. However, I didn't read that review until AFTER I purchased it. I thought about canceling my order but figured I've got plenty of other tv shows that have cuts and this is the only way to watch this show (that I know of) so I decided to keep the order.

It's back in stock on Amazon and for a lower price of $79.99.

I should mention the collection also includes the movie "Seventeen Again."

I have this set and have almost finished watching it. My impression overall has been positive. Yes, the packaging is not quite as presented, but the picture quality is perfectly fine. The cases, while erroneously labeled as seasons 1&3 and seasons 4&6, are intact and close fine for me. I can't speak to the series finale cut, but I suspect there must've been a song rights issue. I can only surmise that there was a song that wasn't able to be cleared, but I have to guess that it was an insurmountable obstacle, because they certainly managed to clear a number of popular songs of the time.

I want to add that the inclusion of the movie Seventeen Again is a Disney Channel movie staring the Mowry sisters and their little brother, Tahj. I was initially confused, thinking it was the theatrical movie starring Zac Efron.

.
Yes, the song Roger sings in the finale is There Are Places I Remember (or it's called In My Life, I'm seeing both as titles when I looked it up). But it's originally a Beatles song. The DVD plays another song over his and cuts the bits where it shows him singing. It's not the worst edit in the world and if I didn't know the scene, I wouldn't have suspected it was being edited. The only sad thing is it downplays Roger's return for the finale.

Oh, thanks for clarifying. I had no idea there was a Zac Efron movie with that same title.

I wanted to add my two cents review on the set here too. I posted pics here of the actual set in the VEI 2016 releases thread, which are enormously huge sized and I apologize for that. The set did get delayed twice past its original release date and I too suspect the picture you've seen of the 6 individual season cases is what they were planning on doing initially. They may have changed it for cost cutting reasons or for logistical reasons, we'll never know exactly why they changed it. But to quickly summarize:

The audio and video quality is certainly acceptable, if you're not obsessed with and demanding everything be in 1080p HD you should be pretty satisfied with it. I use headphones with my DVD player so it sounds fine with those. There are some episodes with a tinny sound to them but it's not too big of a deal.

The actual disc quality is very good, I'm about midway through Season 4 and haven't come across any damaged or defective discs. Given how the set is packaged I'm impressed. I was very leery of VEI before this release but the quality of the actual discs, video and audio quality are quite a bit beyond what I'd expected from them.

The case quality is very good and they open as well as close no problem for me. No cracks, dents or scratches anywhere I can see.

Overall very happy with the quality of the set, I'd definitely buy from VEI again. Will probably get the Evening Shade set that's supposed to be coming later this year. I've still got probably around 50 episodes left but I don't foresee anything popping up that would drastically change my opinion of the set.

Got my set today in the mail.

Looks like they corrected the 1&3 and 4&6 to 1-3 and 4-6.

This review isn't that positive.

This is truly a great buy.
HOWEVER...
If you are a true Sister Sister fan and grew up with the show like I did, there are alot of disappointments in this set.
If wouldn't be a Complete set without...CUTS! They seriously took a lot of the funny out of some episodes. Starting with season one working all the way down to six.

A lot of nitpicky music cuts were made. Thus making scenes shorter. Some are very noticeable like when the girls all go to the beauty salon in season 2. Lisa says they could be the new En Vogue and they sing a 5 sec chorus of "Never Gonna Get It". CUT! There's way more cuts throughout the season. and the first.

In Season 4, the episode "Cafeteria Lady." Tia has a vision of Lisa doing a musical number...CUT!

Season 5, a beautiful dance b/w Jordan and Tamera. The song is suppose to be "Play Another Slow Jam." It's some whack hip-hop song that sounds not 90's related AT ALL! Like seriously guys. COME ON!

But the one cut that pissed me off the most, THE MOTHER OF ALL CUTS...was Season 5, Graduation, when the girls and their friends and practicing their walk, and then they start to have fun a do a little rendition of George Clinton's Atomic Dog (Bow wow wow yippie yo yippie yay). Lisa comes in and starts getting down with them and they all look at her like she's crazy. THE FUNNIEST BIT ON THE SHOW AND IT WAS CUT!

I want to write a letter I'm SO PISSED!
I wish I could understand the way copyrights/license to things work. If a character even references a song it has the potential to be cut.

If you have any questions, just write me on here.
This was just a small quick summary. I wrote stuff down in detail of what I noticed."
