Default The Funniest Moments From 3rd Rock...What Do You Think?

After reading the posts on this board, I was thinking about what I thought were the funniest moments from the show. My ranking:
1)John Lithgow's wonderful Riverdance parody/dance.

2)A small segment in which John is reading Dr. Seuss and marvelling at the poetry and genius of the writing. I think this segment illustrates why the writing on Moonlighting was brilliant: One can only marvel at David Addison's/Bruce Willis's Dr. Seuss rifs. The innocence and charm that John Lithgow is able to convey is beyond anyone else's ability. He is truly unique. I remember he was in a movie "Rich Kids" in the late 70's and for some reason I always remembered him, even though he was just a parent of one of the kids in the movie and did nothing extraordinary or memorable: there is just something about him.

3)Tommy in class with the singing teacher doing songs from "South Pacific" and Tommy's inablility to get up and sing in front of the class. A little risque, and very funny.

Default The season finale...

...with William Shatner as the 'Big Giant Head'!

When Shatner got off the plane and exclaimed about a 'horrible creature tearing away part of the plane' (an obvious reference to the Twilight Zone episode)...then Lithgow saying "That happened to me!"

It was at that point that I realized that it HAD happened to both of them! Shatner in the original TV episode...and Lithgow in the movie version of the same story!

I almost fell outta my chair!

One was where Dick was waving a treat and wissling to what we thought was a dog than the camera moves to Marie and it is so hysterical how Dick waves a treat in front Marie like she was a dog.

Yeah that line cracked me up too! I love that episode, when he's stumbling around the dance holding the punchbowl and he has a giant straw in it. thats too funny!

i also really like the ones w/ John Cleese, those were just too funny. i know there are a bunch of other ones that i really like, but i can't think of them at this time!!

In the episode when Sally and Harry were living in the Amish community, the part where the bullies come into the store and Sally takes care of them, then says to the clerk, "We've only been Amish for a little while."

I also thought it was hilarious when Vicky had the Big Giant Head's baby, and Harry said, "It's purple and slimy and has a hose." And then Mary says, "It's got Vicky's eyes," and one of them says, "I hope it's not eating them!"

a hilarious part is from series 3 - "36,24, 36" - the episode where models take over Rutherford. There is a scene where Dick and Tommy go to the superbowl, and Tommy has to dress up like a baby, and the tickettaker says how tommy has such a big head for a baby.

you need to see the scene and hear the dialogue for it to be funny!!

look out for it in syndication!

I just remembered some others:

In "36-24-36 Dick" where Dick runs screaming from Mary and Nina after they realize he stole their tickets;

In "Dial M for Dick" where Don and the other cops storm the place and then find out it's a mystery weekend;

In "Much Ado About Dick" when Dick pushes the guy off the piano bench and starts singing "Night and Day," and Mary and the other Solomons join in.
