Season 3 of "The Hunt with John Walsh" To Air on CNN and HLN
"The Hunt with John Walsh" Simulcast on CNN and HLN for Season 3
by Lisa de Moraes May 25, 2016 In what CNN and HLN are touting as a first for two fully distributed cable networks, the entire, new, Season 3 of CNN Original Series "The Hunt with John Walsh" will be simulcast on both networks, beginning Sunday, June 19. Each of the eight, first-run episodes of the series will air on both CNN and HLN at 9PM ET. Additionally, HLN will repeat episodes from the prior two season of "The Hunt", starting June 10, including as part of a new programming block with the umbrella name HLN Spotlight. http://deadline.com/2016/05/the-hunt...-3-1201762905/ |

I like this. The biggest advantage will be that HLN is a lot more reliable when it comes to airing their scheduled programming. CNN pre-empts theirs a lot with "Breaking News" stories, which is mostly whatever stupid thing flies out of somebody's mouth nowadays. (hint: it rhymes with "Dump")
I'll be curious to see what else the restructuring brings. While I do appreciate their airing of Forensic Files, it's been quite over-saturated as of late, with seemingly 12+ hours a day devoted to it. Eventually, people will become tired of it, one would think. Did Peter Thomas's recent death even get a mention over there? You think it would be big news considering how much he gets played over there. I was really bummed a few years ago when they cancelled Jane Velez-Mitchell and ditched repeats of Murder By The Book, The Investigators, and Dominick Dunne's Power, Privilege and Justice. They should bring all those back, and continue airing CNN specials and special reports. It's nice to see they will be getting more "newsy" and not focus so much on celebrity gossip and the latest ridiculous trends. |

According to Jigsaw Productions webpage, Death Row Stories (the other true crime show CNN airs, which debuted around the same time as The Hunt), kinda sorta sounds like it has been picked up for season 3 as well, although I'd like to have confirmation. It seems like it would have returned with the Hunt.
CNN needs to stop airing all those damn episodes of Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown. Apparently, somebody thought it would be entertainment to watch an ugly, middle-aged guy stuff his face with food from various parts of the world. I don't find it entertaining. |

Season 3 debuts on June 19th with 2 episodes, the first being a recap of season 2: those still on the run and those captured. The second episode will be the first regular episode of the series. CNN is also airing a lot of older episodes on June 18th and 19th. This is a good chance to catch up if you need to.
