Default To Tell The Truth Premieres Tonight

Tonight marks the return of one of TV's most durable and successful game shows To Tell the Truth. It's the first prime time incarnation of the Goodson-Todman classic that has aired in prime time since the original prime time version with Bud Collyer left the air in 1967. Anthony Anderson of Blackish is the new host and Betty White and NeNe Leakes are part of the new panel. In the short clip I saw, it looks a lot looser since the panel is not seated at a long desk and Anderson's mother also makes an appearance. Hopefully the show will be a success and live up to its reputation of extraordinary guests that has been a mainstay of the numerous versions.

Sounds like fun! I'm gonna check it out. I'm a big fan of the original. Been watching it on BUZZR! Very cool Betty White is participating!

Did you all guess the right ones? I got three out of five.

1- Taylor Swift's ex boyfriend-I guessed wrong, I thought it was #3
2- Champion texter - I guessed wrong ,I thought it was #2, the girl!
3- Than I was right, I thought the champion pole dancer was the guy, and I was right!
4- The inventor of the suitsy. I was right! I thought it was #3
5- The contortionist - I was right! I thought it was # 2!

And another ep. is supposed to come on tonight later! Hope I can stay awake to watch! I'm exhausted right now!

2nd ep. I ended up falling asleep after awhile but:

The world's champion eater .... I was wrong ! My head was in my you know what and I was gullible! I was fooled ,and stupidly thought it was # 2!

The luckiest guy on earth that was struck by lightening and stabbed I was WRONG too !! I thought # 1 !

But the next game when the two were left with the side story, I DID guess right!!! I thought it was # 2 that won several lotteries!!!!

Than I was nodding off to sleep and not paying attention! Only thing I remember at that point was Mike Tyson acting an A**!!!

4 - Original voice of Siri, 5 - Couple married 49 times, then #50 on the show.
Highlight of the hour - Betty : Shut up, Mike.

I only watched the first episode. I'll watch the show from time to time but overall I didn't like it for several reasons that would take too long to go into. But one I will say is, I'm happy that Anthony Anderson loves his mom and it must nice to also be an executive producer so hey I can get my mom on the show I'm hosting too, but I'm sorry I don't think she added anything to the show at all.

This show if I recall was last shown in the the year 2000 with John O'Hurley hosting. This new version, I didn't care for the band, the mother I am sure is nice but I felt she just filled time. I would prefer the old the chair behind a desk look for the panel. For the imposters/real guest their seating was nice and I found they kept the old shadow screen for the early introduction of the guests. . The show could do well but it needs tighter edits. Too much chit chat in the show. Is Mike Tyson hard up for money??
Only Betty I knew, for I am not into the current group of panel members.

I thought the Mother was fun.But why not just have her as a panelist?Have her and Betty sit next to each other. Two elderly ladies would make a fun team.I liked the first show. The second one got on my nerves cause of Mike Tyson. He was TOO obnoxious! He really was taking too much attention off the game!

I have been watching the old shows of To Tell the Truth, the 1950's and early 1960's episodes with Bud Collier or is it Collyer? Their early prizes were $250. for each wrong guess or a total of $1,000 for 4 wrong guesses. As the years passed, I have seen the 1970's mod set look and the prize money was ? $50.00 for each wrong guess.
What ever it was it was pitiful compared to the early years. Considering the time 1950 1960, minimum wage was ? $1.50 an hour, they made good money. I guess those Remington Razor ads, Helene Curtis and Dristan commercials really paid the bills.

What did they pay on this new version?. I didn't catch it.

I was watching the first edition of the new "To Tell the Truth" to be broadcast until a few seconds after its host used a certain term as a rude synonym for liar.
