Theresa Saldana passed away on June 6 at the age of 61. Although she was an actress whose work included a starring role on the '90s TV series The Commish, she was also a crime victim.
In 1982, Theresa Saldana was stalked and almost killed by a stalker named Arthur Richard Jackson. A deliveryman witnessed the attack and saved her life. In the aftermath of the ordeal, she became a victims advocate and crusaded in support of anti-stalker laws. Jackson was convicted of the attack. He spent 14 years in prison before he was extradited to the UK in 1996 to be tried for a 1966 murder. He was found not guilty by diminished responsibility and was committed to a psychiatric hospital, where he resided until his death in 2004. The near-fatal attack was the subject of the 1984 TV-movie Victims for Victims: The Theresa Saldana Story. Theresa Saldana played herself in the movie. http://deadline.com/2016/06/theresa-...ck-1201768326/ |
