That would have been an interesting storyline or a two or three episode arc, of the Governor running for President.

Would have made a great series finale, the Governor winning the Presidency and about to be inaugerated.

Probably was a dismissed idea anyway.

I thought I read somewhere that the Governor running for President was one of the ideas being kicked around, but for a later season (which never materialized). There was still the unresolved matter of who would become Governor in that final episode, him or Benson. I wish the show was able to stay on the air longer because the political path of these two men was really getting interesting.
