Photos of the Pilot Episode - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I found a couple of photos of the pilot episode of Eight is Enough. What strikes me is that there seem to be more people in these photos who don't end up being in the long term regular cast than not.

You have Diana Hyland, Mark Hamill and the two actors that played Tommy and Nancy, along with the three that would be "regulars" on EiE - Dick Van Patten, Laurie Walters and Susan Richardson. What a difference 10 episodes into a show makes when Betty Buckley makes her debut in the 2nd episode of S2 while Grant Goodeve, Willie Aames and Dianne Kay have taken over as David, Tommy and Nancy.
