Default What was this show about?

I'm a relatively big fan of Night Court (if Night Court were a class at school, it would get a B), and quite like the character of Dan Fielding, so naturally I'm interested in this show, but I have no clue as to what it's actually about

Cool

John Larroquette played John Hemingway, a recovering alcoholic, who took the only job he could get, night manager of the Crossroads, a bus terminal in a rundown and seedy area of St. Louis. Though this was a sitcom it had a dark tone. In fact TV Guide referred to it as "sitcom noire". Other cast members included Liz Torres (she played the assistant manager) Gigi Rice (she played a hooker), Darryl "Chill" Mitchill (his character ran the snack bar),Lenny Clarke and Elizabeth Berridge (as two local police officers), and Chi McBride as the janitor. In season 2 Alison LaPlaca joined the cast as John's neighbor and love interest.

Sadly you'll possibly never get to appreciate the series, as to date it's never been officially released, either on VHS or DVD... and is rarely ever shown on tv too...

I'm the opposite to yourself - I know of Nightcourt only because of Larroquette, and have only seen a few clips on YouTube. It looks like an interesting show, though I don't know if I'd pursue obtaining episodes to watch, as I think they'd be pretty dated by now.

The John Larroquette Show however, I feel, has aged quite well.

Night Court is great to watch, if you like other 80s sitcoms you'll like Night Court.

I loved the John Larroquette Show, probably even more than Night Court in some aspects - if you enjoy John in his other shows you would probably enjoy this one.

Bloody great show, the cops made me laugh, had everything Oscar the drunk who lived in one of the bus station phone booths but eventually was cleaned up and became a shoeshine boy. There was hookers, tranvesite yuck but funny, corrupt funny cops, Dexter running the snack bar always annoyed John got the job he wanted. I wish Channel 9 played it proper and didn't play it like 2.00 am. I wish I kept the episodes they run on TV that seen on Video, then erased. I wish it come out on DVD, like to get it any form. This Series should be on DVD as it's timeless.

Sadly, we won't be getting that any time soon, given that I'm pretty sure that none of Night Court has been released on DVD in Australia yet, let alone The John Larroquette Show

This was the last show I made it a regular point to watch. It was as good as Night Court, but a bit more sophisticated.

This show was about a recovering alcoholic who manages a bus station in St. Louis and the goofballs he has to deal with. John's character is a bit like Fielding, but not lecherous. This was a good show and it wasn't on long enough.

Unfortunately, there is only one episode on YouTube. 3X01. Since I have not seen this show in what, 25 years, I forgot all the characters. Networks need to make an app where people can watch shows on demand. Pay $5 a season of forgotten shows like this. Beats collecting dust in a closet.
