I just watched the first 2 episodes of Good Morning Miami that a friend taped for me in America, seeing as though this show is not shown in the United Kingdom.
I thought it was absolutely brilliant, it is very much like the humour on Will & Grace. I hope it runs for a long time and I completely disagree with anyone who slags it off!!!!! Good Morning Miami Rules!!!

Let's see what you think when you watch more of them.
You've seen the first two? Then you've pretty much seen them all. Only Penny can save this show but I have the feeling the writers won't let her. |

I loved GMM from the first time I saw the promos. It had such potential and it was realized from the first episode. For a while I tuned in religiously and loved every second of it. Of late, however, the show has become unbearable to watch. They seriously need to pick things up if they expect to keep viewers.
Have a good one. |

because apparently most people found the beginning episodes BAD and unbearable but see it as gradually improving now. |

I like this show a lot. I haven't missed an episode. It needs time to improve, but the first seasons of many shows are lackluster, which GMM is not. The first season of Seinfeld is almost unwatchable.
I know one thing--the show makes me laugh. Frank is hilarious. His confusion with the 'Elephant in the room' was very funny. Gavin has the best one-liners of the entire cast, in my opinion. Penny, with her Janeane Garofalo persona, is great fun to watch. Dylan's got good comic energy going on, and I think Jake is perfect as the obsessed boss. I think the writers are tweaking and tossing as is normally done during first seasons. Sorry to say, but I'm glad the nun is gone or that her role is diminished. I'm glad Gavin's co-anchor is history too. Personally I don't need to see them doing the actual morning show. It's just a backdrop really, like the MTM show or NewsRadio. I admit the show could use a few funny scenes with Gavin on the air and then cutting away to his off-air arrogant self...Ted Baxter style. I think Jake's grandmother gets in the way even though I like Suzanne Pleshette. It's obvious that she's there so Jake can confide in her for viewers to hear what he's thinking and planning. I'm drawn to the show to see what happens next. It has a soap opera quality about it. I think I read it's going for a second season. If that's the case, it will be interesting to see how they'll sustain this pace and suspense. They seem to be playing out their entire hand this season. Who knows what's in store. This latest development with Jake and Penny, and Dylan thinking she may like Jake, makes me want to tune in again. The plot thickens. I wouldn't mind this show sticking around for a while. I think the characters are likable and the writing is good. It makes me laugh. |

i like this show. its something new i look forward to. but ur right, makes me wonder how much they could write for this show cos they throw a cliffhanger in every episode. i think they should've saved the Penny-Jake thing as the big cliffhanger at the end of first season.
