Am I the only person out there that likes it? I think the reason people hate it, the goofiness, is what gives it its charm. What is a silly sitcom's theme supposed to sound like? Miami Vice? Not going to work.

I like the theme, too. Yes, it's goofy but it fits with the show. The show itself was almost a caricature of a sitcom.

The Ropers was actually a good show. I wish it had lasted another season. I liked the neighbors but I liked Mr. and Mrs. Roper the best. It wasn't a bad show

I liked the Ropers too and I found it funny. I also like the Ropers theme as well. It sounds like circus music.

It's bombastic...which totally fits the show. Off-the-wall comedy and Mrs. Roper is just a pure genius character!

I liked the theme song to. The blot at the beginning. Also how they showed each character individually.

It was a fun little theme- and gotta love the sample of the "Three's Company" theme in there.

Am I the only one who always wondered why Mr. Roper was still holding a plunger in his hand during the opening, despite the fact that he was no longer the manager/maintenance man? Did Stanley have an infatuation with plungers or something?
I did think the theme song was hilarious. It was so bad, it was good. It seems to be written for the mid 20 year old stoner crowd in the late 1970's. |
