A&E Cancels "Unforgettable"
No Season 5 for "Unforgettabe"
by Nellie Andreeva February 16, 2016 After cheating death twice, crime drama "Unforgettable" has finally come to an end. Canceled by CBS after three seasons, the Sony TV-produced procedural starring Poppy Montgomery and Dylan Walsh was resurrected for a 13-episode fourth season on A&E. The network has now opted not to order additional seasons, and there are no ongoing efforts by the studio to find a new home. The contracts of the cast have expired, and some of the actors, including Montgomery, are already considering pilots. "Unforgettable" got off a slow start on the cable network. With little promotion, the premiere drew a 0.2 adults 18-49 among in Live +3 and 1.12 million viewers. After a promising uptick the following few weeks, ratings slipped in the final stretch. The show was a modest license fee acquisition for A&E, which still worked fine for Sony TV where "Unforgettable" had been a big seller internationally. "Unforgettable", from creators/exec producers John Bellucci and Ed Redlich and exec producers Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly, was first canceled by CBS after its freshman run in May 2012 despite averaging 12.1 million viewers to become the most-watched series on any network to get the hook that season. After Sony TV shopped the series to cable nets, CBS brought back the series about a month later with a 13-episode Season 2 pickup for a summer run, followed by a Season 3 pickup, also for summer, and then another cancellation. http://deadline.com/2016/02/unforget...-5-1201703669/ |
