I believe it was more of a prestige title given her sort of like the English use "Lady" to describe royalty, etc.. Ann Sothern was a big star with two hit sitcoms in the '50s being her greatest claim to fame as well as a film career that spanned decades. I guess by lending her voice to such a silly sitcom her agent may have specified she receive special billing to give the show some 'name value'. Just speculation on my part.

Plus it also may have implied she was young as opposed to the rather elderly lady she was at the time.

Keep in mind that another mid-60s show gave that special treatment to its star.
In the opening sequence of "The Big Valley," each of the supporting cast was mentioned by name: Richard Long, Lee Majors, Peter Breck and Linda Evans...and at the last: "and starring MISS BARBARA STANWYCK as Victoria Barkley." |

Lucy was always referred to as Miss Lucille Ball too. Koo koo, she'd only been married forever.
I think it was just an attempt to assign some class and distinction to these old vets.

Michael Learned was also billed as "Miss Michael Learned" on The Waltons, but I've read that was done so that no one would miss that this Michael was a lady.
