"What's Happening!!" DVD packaging question

I recently purchased the second season's worth of "What's Happening!!," and I would like to know something about its packaging:

Why was it made such that the spine was on the right-hand side, with the digipak sliding out from the left? Most of the television disc sets of mine that use digipaks have them sliding out from the right-hand side; however, the "What's Happening!!" S2 release that I purchased, by virtue of having its digipak coming out from the left-hand side, looks somewhat awkward in arrangement on my shelf, compared to the rest of my television disc sets.

Yeah, it does look awkward, doesn't it? The packaging of the first two seasons of "Diff'rent Strokes" (I'm referring to the box sets released by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment in 2004 and 2006, respectively [not the reissues manufactured by Mill Creek Entertainment in 2014]) are manufactured the same way. Funny...I've always wondered why; in fact, I was scratching my head at the peculiarity of those two "Strokes" DVD box sets when I purchased them both at Walmart in 2008.
