![]() Damn, Doris Day was gorgeous! Too bad she lived in such a repressive generation that turned her into the ho hum woman she became. If she was 30 years later, she could have been a rock star (and had a lot more fun). |

I tend to think when you are young, you generally look good. You don't see all that many age 60+ people on the covers of magazines.

Coffeecup, it's true one doesn't see many 60+ actresses on covers of mags except that crazy Caitlyn Jenner who at 65 made the cover of Vanity Fair, which was a travesty

True, she was quite the stunner- up there with Marilyn, Lana,Betty Grable, and Rita Hayworth in the 1940s . Moreover, I've even seen a recent picture of her appearing at her purported 90th Birthday celebration[but possibly the 92nd] in which she STILL looked like a pretty white-haired old lady. Had she wanted to become a rock star, she COULD have in the late 60's early 70's- as her now-deceased son Terry DID produce The Beach Boys and, for his faults, he was very supportive of her but rock was never the style of the big band headliner. Small wonder big band aficionados had a good chuckle when the troubled Oscar Levant said during her 'wholesome era' that he'd known her 'BEFORE she was a virgin'.
