Default Favorite Mary scenes

What was your favorite scene with Mary.

Mine was when Burt disappeared and Mary thought she was going crazy- which she was.

Mine was when Burt had the governor over and Mary was drunk and fell down the stairs and then told every one it was because of her shoes.

Me, too. She and Katherine Helmond were totally believable as sisters. Their scenes together were some of the most touching and natural on the show.

I liked when Mary sprayed furniture polish in Bob's face.

And, also when Burt disappeared in front of her eyes, as someone mentioned. The scenes with Jessica usually produced great stuff, too.

I love the binge scene in episode 2.7 where all the ladies are gathered around the table pigging out and Mary just blurts out "I love sex", which starts a frank discussion that must have inspired the cheesecake scenes that would become a staple of The Golden Girls some years later.

Oh, I can't choose just one. Mary was my girl. ALL of her scenes with Burt and ALL of her scenes with Jessica are my favorites. I just can't play this game, LOL!

So many...Mary was my favorite and still is. Love any scene with her and Burt (except when he got mean in Season 4). Scenes between her and Danny were especially sweet (his wedding day, her not saying "goodbye" to him when he ran from the mob and choosing to say "goodnight" instead). Funniest with Burt (and Alien Burt), especially the bedroom scene where she says she felt like a fly ("I had to keep going or get it"). Tumbling down the stairs, calendar/colander with Jessica and Jessica's deathbed. Hitting Elaine with a pie, and "Whoosh!" when she tried to explain to the Tates that she saw Burt disappear. Mary was the "straight man," but Cathryn Damon was the funniest to me.

When the baby was born and she yelled out (paraphrasing here) "Thank God it's white!" in front of the black nurse.

That scene was hilarious. Then after she fainted ("they're a little concerned about his color"), it resumed with Jodie telling her he looked "golden." I generally try to pretend Season 4 never happened, but there were some fun Mary highlights there, too, including all the stuff about Scotty flying and the bittersweet flashback with her and Chester as college sweethearts. Makes me want to watch my DVDs right now, especially since LOGO has stopped running the episodes on the weekend
