Default the black-and-white episodes

I know ME TV is showing them on weekdays but are they still showing the color ones on Saturdays?

Nope, they are only showing the black and white episodes now. The color episodes are still on TVLand.

for those like me who can get ENCORE WESTERNS they were showing the black-and white episodes for a few years. They don't show them anymore though but they're on Comcast On Demand.
They're currently showing the early half-hour ones, though

I have been watching the shows since episode one to now on season 8 and not many shows have a happy ending. Every episode some one being shot and not all are the bad guys. I am waiting for more cheerful episodes.

I watch it on ME/TV and I hate the black and white half hour shows.

I like the black and white tv shows. The whole feeling is different. No loud laughing sounds, no crude or rude lines, and many times the quality of the film is better. I was watching Murder She Wrote and Angela and the cast seemed to have hazy look. Looks like filmed through a thin sheet. The old shows take you back in time. You must realize I was born in the Sputnik era when black and white was the norm.

Growing up, I only saw the color episodes so I was more familiar with them. However I recently bought seasons 9 ,10 and eleven and find I favor the hour long black and white episodes more. The half hour black and white episodes are OK but I find it hard to sink my teeth into half hour drama's. Just me personal opinion but for the half hour shows, it seems like the episode is over before you can really get into it.

I have nothing against the hour long black & white episodes because it was a improvance toward the series itself.

The Black and White Episodes are the best ones and run from 1955-1965. The Color Episodes are from 1966-1975.

I like both the B&W ones and the color ones, but the B&W look better in HD. The color ones were filmed with that hazy painterly look that was so popular in the 60's & 70's that made everything look sort of cheap and dirty. I like to look at the details in the background of the B&W episodes.
