![]() Alleged Mexican Gang Members Arrested for Murder of Ali Landry's Father-in-Law and Brother-in-Law BY CHAR ADAMS 11/10/2015 AT 12:50 PM EST Mexican police have arrested six people in connection with the murder of former Miss USA Ali Landry's father-in-law and brother-in-law, according to multiple reports. Federal police chief Francisco Galindo said that the arrests were made on Saturday during an operation in Tamaulipas, Mexico, Fox News Latino reports. Juan Manuel Gómez Fernández and Juan Manuel Gómez Monteverde, the father and brother of Landry's husband, Alejandro Gómez Monteverde, 38, were found dead in Veracruz in September, about two weeks after they were kidnapped from their home in Tamaulipas. Galindo said the suspects were part of a gang linked to 20 cases of kidnapping or homicides, the Associated Press reports. He added that the suspects were holding six migrants hostage at the time of their arrest. Just one day after the arrest announcement, Landry, 42, posted a photo of her family on Twitter with the caption, "A special mass for our family yesterday in Monterrey with family and friends. We are very grateful for all of your love and support!" Last month, Landry opened up about the deaths of her in-laws in a touching Instagram post, writing that the deaths will affect her family forever. I want to thank all of you for your love, support and prayers during this time of grief. Yes, the events surrounding my family were tragic and what has happened will profoundly affect our lives forever, but my Father in Law was the kind of man that radiated pure joy and it was infectious. He loved and adored his family more than anything. He was a jokester, a great dancer, a crier (especially when he was talking about his sons , and he lived his life in the present, appreciating each moment as a huge blessing. He was my husbands hero and like my second Dad. My brother in law was such a hard working business owner. He was an incredible salsa dancer, he was fluent in Japanese and we all looked up to him. When things became dangerous in Tampico a few years ago he moved his family to Estonia, Guadalajara, and then Mcallan Texas just to keep them safe. He was a wonderful friend, an amazing husband, and a great father to his two beautiful children. This is a painful time, and we are still processing it all. What we have realized is that this journey through grief and loss is a marathon, not a sprint, and the only way to get through it is by the grace of God. We are determined not to allow this event to define them or our lives. We want to remember the beauty, the innocence, and the light that they represented, and to continue their legacy and always put family first Thank you again for caring for our family!!! Love Ali"This is a painful time, and we are still processing it all," she wrote.
