"Rookie Blue" Canceled after Six Seasons

ABC has canceled "Rookie Blue", according to The Hollywood Reporter. The cop drama's recently aired sixth-season finale - in which Andy (Missy Peregrym) and Sam (Ben Bass) got married - will now double as a series finale.

"On behalf of the whole Rookie Blue family, thank you to all the fans for your dedication over the last six years. After six fun and dramatic seasons, our story has come to a natural close," creator Ilana Frank said in a statement.

This was one of my favorite summer shows. The article didn't say exactly why it was cancelled, were the ratings real low? It did say it came to a natural close but it could have ran for another few seasons.

Basically the Canadian producers/distributors agreed that the series came "to a natural close" and showrunner Tassie Cameron has moved on to other projects.
