1971-75 version of "Password"
I'm surprised Goodson-Todman let ABC wipe most of the episodes.
According to game show history Goodson-Todman was pretty good about making sure most of their game shows didn't get wiped. Word is ABC wiped most of the tapes to record "Family Feud" shows on them. While I do like "Family Feud" better than "Password", and if I had to choose between saving one and wiping one, the latter would definitely be the one I'd wipe. But I still don't know why Goodson-Todman didn't interfere to try to stop ABC wiping the Password episodes. We really couldn't have saved both shows? |

Such a shame that so much got wiped, in the era prior to widespread home recording.
Anyone interested in that period of time who's able to see the Decades channel will want to be watching this weekend, as they "binge" on Celebrity Bowling (1971-78)...! |
