Kate Simses Joins ABC’s "Dr. Ken" as Series Regular
by Denise Petski August 13, 2015 Kate Simses (Mixology) is set as a regular opposite Ken Jeong in ABC’s new comedy series "Dr. Ken". Written by Jared Stern, Mike O’Connell and Jeong, who is a licensed physician, Dr. Ken stars Jeong as a frustrated HMO doctor juggling medicine, marriage and parenting — and succeeding at none of them. Simses will play Dr. Julie Mintz, a naive, ever optimistic young resident at the HMO. Mintz’s romantic worldview and desire to play by the rules are often at odds with the more realistic opinions of her colleagues.
