Sarah Shahi To Recur on "Person of Interest"

Finch and Reese are about to meet their match. In-demand "Fairly Legal" star Sarah Shahi has been tapped for a recurring role on the sophomore CBS drama "Person of Interest".

She will play Shaw, a fearless, sexy and witty operative in a secret paramilitary organization that tracks and eliminates terrorists before they can act.

As creator/executive producer Jonathan Nolan put it, “if James Bond and Sarah Connor had a kid, Shaw would kick its ass.”

Shahi will first appear in the February 21 episode titled 'Relevance', which will be directed Nolan.

For now, Shahi has been booked for an arc this season, but I hear she may continue in Season 3 of the drama that has been growing in the ratings, boosted by a "Two and a Half Men" lead-in.

It was officially canceled Nov. 2012.

"Person of Interest" Adds Sarah Shahi as Series Regular

Sarah Shahi is joining "Person of Interest" full-time.

When season three kicks off this fall, Shahi will be a full-fledged series regular opposite Jim Caviezel and Michael Emerson, CBS president Nina Tassler announced on a conference call with reporters Wednesday morning.

The former "Fairly Legal" star first appeared on the CBS drama in February as the mysterious operative Samantha Shaw, who tracks and eliminates terrorists before they act.

She has appeared in four episodes in season two.

CBS announced Wednesday that "Person of Interest", which has anchored the 9 p.m. Thursday slot for two seasons will move to 10 p.m. Tuesdays -- taking over a time period previously held by "Vegas" and "Golden Boy".

Reason No. 39 why "Person of Interest" needs to return sooner rather than later: Shaw is back, for real.

Sarah Shahi, who has been on maternity leave from the CBS drama since the middle of Season 4, is returning for much of the coming run, the actress told TVLine at CBS’ Television Critics Association press tour party on Monday night.

“I go back in September — full-time,” Shahi shared. “I’ll probably do eight or nine” of the shortened season’s 13 episodes.

As for Shaw’s return storyline, “I have no idea what the plan is,” she admitted with a laugh.

Shaw has been glimpsed twice since being shot to “death” — in a “She’s alive!” reveal filmed before Shahi took leave, and in a season-ending tag.
