Never thought I would say this but "TV ONE" is officially TRASH - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

in 2004, this was the best cable channel since they aired everything uncut. Now fast forward 11 years later and not only are the eps are uncut but they end the episode while it's still in progress?

I never seen any sh*t like this on a cable channel, not even on TV LAND. Why would a episode end and it's still in progress? Why is TV one so in a rush to air the next episode?

Yup they are all garbage now Solomon..... Not even worth watching TV!!!

All it is IS TOTAL DIGITAL CRAP!!!!!!!! (Nothing pure on TV anymore)

TV One also credit crunches now. They gotta make room for the advertisers to pay the bills of course.

Even so, I would say TV One is still comparatively better than the vast majority of cable channels that supposedly air retro TV shows, even in its current state.

I don't have cable but I used to love watching TV One whenever I got the chance. But now that they crunch credits I won't watch them anymore. Just like Antenna TV has pretty much lost me.

I saw an article on TV Newscheck, since more people are "cutting the cord" (Reducing the number of viewers, which determines ad costs) the networks are adding EVEN MORE commercials (It's called "Ad Stuffing") and RAISING fubscription fees.

. This is a death spiral my friends, as it will only drive more people away from their rolls. Media stocks took a BIG hit this past week, and I believe the worst is yet to come for them.

I heard about the big stock drop this week. I was pointing out in another thread a couple weeks ago how audiences, per channel, are shrinking, which is forcing broadcasters to stuff in more and more commercials. Something's got to give. There are just too many channels and viewing options now. None of them can make any money with such an overabundance of competition.

Commercial TV is doing something that I've NEVER seen any company do and get away from it, Raising prices for their goods and services AND lowering the quality of said product (In the case for TV programming adding more and more advertising to the already beyond insane glut). Over the years I've seen LEGIONS of companies (may of which used to be household names) do this over the years and where are they now? They're all dust in the wind.

I sawt his happening over eight years ago, now what I've predicted back in 2007 is beginning to happen. The Month of November is going to be interesting. The greatest number of subscription cancellations has been in the third quarter. I don't see any good reports for those reporting subscription numbers at this time.

I got rid of satellite about four years ago, mainly because of the lack of variety*, but also because I was sick of squeezed credits and pop-up ads all over the place. When House of Cards got nominated for its first Emmy a few years ago, I said the game had changed, and cable's days were numbered. Now that HBO, Showtime and ESPN have offered standalone apps, the subscription numbers will continue to dwindle, and networks will continue using obnoxious methods to keep viewers.

I went to my mom's house last Christmas or so. When I saw TV One's new credits, it made me realize another network has sold out to pay its expenses. I know TV is a business, but I hate that the viewers are the ones footing the bill.

If you have an antenna, Bounce TV is a pretty nice alternative. They show a lot of sitcoms BET and TV One aired in the 90s and 2000s (Roc, A Different World), and Black movies (regular and Blaxploitation). I really enjoy the channel.
