Default The Dukes fans are getting out of hand!

It is getting to the point where people can't find merchandise for this show just because TV Lind pulled it.

Crazy folks are spending up to 500 dollars on ebay for this show. It is insane.

All of this makes me ask this question: Are people mad because the Dukes were removed or are they making some sort of silly statement.

I am pretty sure all these angry people ignored the show when it aired on TV Land and CMT. Now that is was removed everyone suddenly wants the DVDs and other networks to air it.

Give me a break! The ratings on TV Land were not even that good so you can't convince me that people care about it when it was airing on TV Land.

It's the point of the matter. I didn't even know it was on TV Land until someone posted it here. I barely watch that crap channel. But to take off a classic show because of a flag is ridiculous. Anyone who's ever watched the show knows that it's not racist. I applaud the fans. At least they aren't taking this lying down. Are they going overboard? Maybe but I don't care. I love it.

i didn't actually know that it was on TV Land (who watches THAT channel anymore?), but I would occasionally catch it on CMT.

I looked at my shelf and realized that I still only have the first 4 seasons on DVD and checked out what they were currently going for, but I opted to not pursue it any further.

The fact that even eBay and Amazon have banned sales of the Confederate flag, and Warner has stopped merchandise, makes them think that the show IS banned from reruns.

The fact is, the Confederate Flag should not be banned at all!!

This is a crazy society in which we live now. Way too much PC bull crap. History is history.

I found out it was on TVLand on 6-28-15, I hit series record, got the episodes on 6-29, and it was cancelled on 6-30, had I known it was on I would've recorded it, and I was in the process of recording it. I guess we'll just have to live with people banning the flag and leaving the racists alone.

My cousin was a fan of the series when she was younger, so a while back I bought a couple of the season DVD sets. I never did get around to giving them to her as gifts... So I guess I'm glad to own a couple of factory-sealed sets.

Madderest

If Warner Brothers (Who own the "rights" to this show) decide to take this series off the market the only ones who will benefit will be the bootleggers who will immediately take over selling copies of this show on the black market. IMO all this flap about banning items with the Confederate Battle Flag is nothing but bt. For many people this flag is heritage, not hatred. (My Mother's side of my family came from Mississippi). Refusing to make a show available because it's not considered "correct" only results in a greater demand to acquire this show, only if to see "What's causing all the fuss?" Needless to say, money which the studios could have made by making a show available instead goes to bootleggers, and Heaven knows where it will goes from there.

Sometimes I wonder what's more criminal, those who sell illicit copies of "forbidden" titles, or the studios who refuse to make legitimate copies available because they fear repercussions from minorities if they were to make official copies of these shows available.

Two wrongs don't make a right, but where there's a will there's a way. In the years since I began collecting home videos I've acquired titles such as Amos N Andy, Song of the South, The "Censored 11" Looney Tunes and Bugs Bunny Nips the Nips among others from various sources. (There is a Trailer Park located a couple of miles from my house that has a neighborhood wide "Yard Sale" every April and October, and there is one family that sells nothing but bootlegs. they've been doing this for eight years and the Feds have never intervened.)

PS. The same "Liberals" who demand the Confederate flag be banned ARE THE SAME ONES who said burning the US Flag is a "Constitutional Right" . Guess what? MAJORITIES HAVE RIGHTS TOO!
