"You're the Worst" Casts Paul's New Love Interest (Exclusive)

Worsties, prepare to meet the female version of Paul (Allan McLeod). FXX's critical darling "You're the Worst" has cast Mageina Tovah for its upcoming second season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Tovah has signed on for a multiple-episode arc as Amy Cadingle, Paul's nerdy new girlfriend. The character is described as essentially being a female Paul — she's a bespectacled, stringy-haired interpreter for the deaf who is decidedly secure in her oddness.

Good-natured and upbeat, she is seemingly impervious to Lindsay's (Kether Donohue) attempts at undercutting her relationship with Paul. She will first appear in the episode titled 'Born Dead'.





Following the heartbreaking season finale in which Paul told a drunken Lindsay that he wanted a divorce and confessed to having an emotional affair with the girl he meets on a home brew chat room, showrunner Stephen Falk told THR that McLeod would "definitely" be a big part of season two.

"Lindsay is reeling in the aftermath of her husband leaving her for a girl he met on a website," Falk said. So we're going to see Lindsay, the hot mess she already was, spiral even further, which is a lot of fun."


"You're the Worst" returns in the fall on FXX. A specific premiere date has not yet been announced.
