Was there any talk of Aunt Esther taking over the Sanford Arms on Sanford and Son? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Does anyone know if Aunt Esther taking over the Sanford Arms was mentioned during the last episodes of Sanford and Son? Usually before a spinoff starts, there is a storyline started on the parent show so that the viewing public can follow that storyline to the spinoff. So if someone knows that would be great.

Don't quote me on this, but I don't think they mentioned it. It's been awhile since I've seen the last episode. I think it dealt with Fred going to night school and getting tutored, something like that. I don't think they mentioned Esther taking over, though. Can anybody verify my answer or give the correct answer?

NOTE: After the series ended their were a few spinoffs from the series. Sandford: Featuring Fred and Lamont's best friend working together after Lamont maaried and moved to Alaska. Sandford Arms: Aunt Ester runs the Sandford Arms motel. Grady: A prosed series featuring Grady and the pilot aired as an episode.

I don't believe there was any talk. Esther was just the one to collect the rent money from Phil Wheeler.
