And who (that is NOT gay) can blame him. Gay people have a right to have all and every right that regular normal people have, (yes, I said NORMAL), but they have no right to put it in our face, shove it down our throats and insist that we are "homophobic" unless we consider it to be normal and commonplace. Therein lies the problem. They are not tolerant of those who do not accept their lifestyle as something they would NOT want for any of their own family members.

you have a right to an opinion, fine.

Your opinion does not override someone else's right to the freedom to live their life how they see fit.

more importantly though, if you wish to debate hot-button political issues or start a fight with someone, this board is not the place to do it - take it to the politics board or the many, many political message boards out there designed for that sort of thing - we want to talk about sitcoms here.

Why you view an opinion about a topic on a open public forum as "starting a fight with someone" is beyond me. I never intended for my opinion to summon you. You responded to the posting of my opinion. How is that "starting a fight?" It's not. And this topic is being discussed as it relates to situation comedies which justifies the topic being here in the first place.

your statement was made to voice your opinion in the most judgmental and inflammatory way possible - usually when someone posts an opinion in such a way, its sole purpose is to bait anyone with an opposing view into a post war.

more importantly, you skewed the facts of a statement that someone made to support your own beliefs in an attempt to further your argument.

the bottom line is that you have already voiced your opinion and if you don't intend to start an argument, then just drop it right here and now; if you intend to keep going, then i'll just remove this thread and you can take your fight somewhere else.

As the posted article here illustrates, your thread title is very misleading; if not an out and out lie. Billy Crystal does not object to the presence of gay love scenes on tv. He stated that he was referring to explicit sex of all kinds.

More importantly, I'm with robyrob on this. The show forums are not the place for this type of discussion. The only appropriate forum is the Politic's board. The argument that shows with gay characters get a pass just doesn't cut it. Simply because that's the case with Soap, Three's Company, Modern Family, etc. doesn't mean someone can go there and vent their spleen and say that gays are shoving their lifestyle down our throats.

I know there are militant gays who turn over every rock looking for homophobia. They drive me nuts. It's the same with just about every segment in society. Still, for the most part, most gays just want an equal shot in life; the same rights as everyone and the chance to raise their families.

Lately, I've noticed a surge in advertising depicting gays. It's very noticeable and here to stay. Same goes for interracial couples. Get used to seeing a same-sex, interracial couple getting their kids their Coco Puffs for breakfast. Two guys picking out a car together, it's here.

There's a major change taking place in society, and I believe it's for the better. Just 10 years ago, they were making gay jokes on tv and in life in general. Do it now, and risk getting fired. The train has left the station. Those who don't get on board risk being viewed as a dinosaur.

Finally, please be respectful of the moderator when being reprimanded. Robyrob was simply doing his duty and shouldn't have a member argue with him.
