Default Sgt. Getraer calling Ponch Frank

Has anyone else ever noticed this? Sgt. Getraer always calls Ponch by his first name Frank? He never calls him Ponch that I can recall. And he is the only one, nobody else calls him Frank ever!

I noticed that from the get-go when I purchased that first release and watched the pilot.

I think I've heard him call Ponch and/or Poncharello the many times he's scolding him on something.

Yeah maybe Poncherello when he is scolding him only, but I don't think I've ever heard the Sgt. call him Ponch? And in regular conversation , always Frank! He seems to scold Poncherello or Frank more that anyone else it seems!

Frank is really close to his real name. They called him Hank when he was a kid! His real name is Henry Enrique Estrada , and Hank is short for Henry! I read all this in his biography! He also wanted to really be a cop in real life ever since he was a little boy. His Dad was a heroin addict, and his mom left him and raised Hank and his sister as a single Mother. Than she got a boyfriend who was a NYPD cop , and Hank loved this man like he was his own Dad. So he got all into wanting to be a cop since he was a young boy. Than as a teenager he had a crush on a girl at school , who was going to be in a school play, so he signed up too to try out just to be near her, and they saw that he really had potential. And than after that he started to pursue acting!

^ That's interesting I wonder why he didn't just stick with Henry instead of Erik when he began acting.

He was talked into it by his agent. He didn't want to at first , but they convinced him that Eric Estrada sounded cooler and catchier than Henry Estrada! And it does sound cooler. Henry sounds like an old man's name!! Notice how I misspelled Erik? I did that because at first it was with a c at the end, than they told him a K at the end would even be cooler!

It's a bit unusual that he would've been named Henry Enrique, as a Latino friend confirmed to me that "Enrique" is the Spanish version of "Henry". This is a bit like someone being named John Juan or Michael Miguel.

Ponch's sister ( Patty Poncherello) calls him Frank , she even called him Francis one time. In Tuesday's ep. she was visiting Ponch!
