Hello.
I am trying to remember two cases that I saw on tv. I would appreciate any help with trying to remember where I saw this. I will try to provide as many details as I can remember. I think the first case I am trying remember is about an elderly lady who was found in a car while on a newspaper route. I think she was found that morning. I seem to remember a detail that she stopped by a gas station or something during her route. I can't quite remember how she died, unfortunately. and I don't remember any suspects. I seem to remember her crossing state lines. Her route was quite a bit away from her home. The second case I am trying to remember is about a family found dead. I think neighbors came by and found one of the sons dead outside of the house. The rest of the family, I can't remember how many children, was found inside the home. I think this was a shooting that happened at night and the family was found in the morning. The mother and a male (can't remember if it was a father, stepfather, boyfriend) were found in a living room area and the children I think were found in their rooms. It must have been a rural area because I seem to remember a winding dirt road in the reenactment towards the house. Unfortunately, I can't remember any suspects. |

I know that Cold Case Files did a segment (titled "The Paper Route") on the 1988 murder of Bertha Beaman, who was killed while on a newspaper route; a man named Eckerin Frazier was later linked to the homicide through DNA. You may want to google the victim's name to deterime whether this is the homicide you are referring to, just in case any of the details you mentioned are inaccurate.
As for the second case you described, so far it doesn't ring a bell. |

Your second case reminds me of the Bauer family murder that occurred in Montreal which was committed by the father. Otherwise the case doesn't sound familiar to me.

Wow, I didn't expect answers so quickly. The Bertha Neaman case sounds exactly right. It's taken me ages to finally figure it out. I'm not sure if the Bauer case is the one I'm thinking of from what I found online. Apparently there was a fire involved in that one and I don't remember that. I think the key detail may be the son that was found outside away from the rest of the family. It is possible that it may be a "Cold Case Files" episode if the Neaman case was from that show.

One of my coworkers used to date the granddaughter of Bertha Neaman.
