Question Building from Room 222 and Boston Public

My husband is convinced that the building used for outside shots in "Boston Public" (fox) is the same building that was used for Room 222. Does anyone know if that's true?

Well it was said that the building in Room 222 was in Los Angeles so was that show based in Los Angeles? So the answer maybe no if Room 222 was based in the city of Los Angeles instead of Boston.

Thumbs down

William Tell reported that the exteriors for Room 222 were filmed in Glendale, California. Not true. The whole series was filmed on location at Los Angeles High School on the corner of Olympic and Rimpau in Los Angeles (obviously). That HS, founded in 1873 and the oldest public high school in the city, moved to that location in 1917. Sadly that beautiful building was damaged in the February 9, 1971 Sylmar earthquake. Shortly thereafter a fire of suspicious origin at the high school caused the Board of Education to let out lucrative contracts to demolish the building and to build a new poured concrete building on the same location. I have never seen Boston Public but since it is a relatively new show, it seems very unlikely that the producers were able to use the exteriors of a building torn down in 1971.

I remember from the end credits that the exteriors were shot at University High School, which is in West Los Angeles.

Default I was there

I went to Loyola HS in LA at the time the show was on. LA High was the oldest public school but Loyola was a few years older. They were very close to each other and LA High's bragging rights to having the exteriors shot there were of great distress at the time. I was also in contact with the LA High historian about 6 or 7 years ago about another issue and he reminded me that the front exterior was shot at LA High, though I had always remembered. University High, which is on the campus of UCLA, might have been used for other shots, but the building they showed was definitely LA High.
