Default LIS need to be re-released & remastered....

The DVD quality is terrible for a landmark show especially the fuzzy VHS quality of the last season. It's barely watchable on my flat screen.

I own another Irwin classic Time Tunnel on DVD and the remastering was beautiful. You can even see the sheen of sweat on the actors faces at times Lots of thought was put into that. Even having bonus interviews with the cast.

Default Re: Lost In Space needs to be re-mastered and re-released on DVD

Hi, I have the Fox DVD's of Lost In Space all 3 seasons
and I was pleased with the quality of their film print transfers,
then again I have an older model TV set from the mid-2000's
but it's adequate for me.

I also have the Time Tunnel TV series volumes and I must say,
it's great to see all of these episodes--both series alike--uncut
for a change instead of edited for content. Time Tunnel specifically
is a huge improvement over the 2001 Sci-Fi Channel weekday run
with split-screened end credits. Of course now that it's had its name
changed to Sy-Fy (Why?) they show nothing older and all they have
now are reality shows and poor quality "original" movies.

It doesn't even remotely resemble the Sci-Fi Channel when it first
started out in the 90's. I have quit watching it entirely. Go to stations
like ME-TV for classic television. They are much better even if they do
have commercials and the logo on the bottom right-hand corner of the
TV screen. I liked Sci-Fi better in the 90's when they aired all the classics
and the obscure 1-season 70's shows like The Immortal (1970, Christopher
George), The Magician (1973, Bill Bixby), etc. which I enjoyed as a teenager
when they originally ran on network TV in the early 70's. Other faves:
Invisible Man (1975, David McCallum), Gemini Man (1976, Ben Murphy),
Logan's Run (1977, Gregory Harrison), Search (1972, Hugh O'Brian,
Doug McClure, Tony Franciosa, Burgess Meredith), Barbary Coast
(1975, William Shatner, Doug McClure), Man From Atlantis (1977,
Patrick Duffy). Any of these ring a bell, fans?

I do agree, Lost In Space should be re-mastered and re-released.
I have heard rumors of it but last I heard they could not get Fox
interested in the project as they are no longer releasing the older
shows on DVD.

Fans of the mid-60's World War II Quinn Martin drama (ran 3 seasons)
Twelve O'Clock High (Robert Lansing/Paul Burke) which was also from
Fox have a similar problem getting it released. Not popular enough
apparently. They have to rely on sellers with the show on DVD (from
Canadian station now off the air), ME-TV, or the 78 episodes posted
on Youtube by a fan of the show. Like I always say, better than nothing.
I did well to get the Robert Lansing episodes (total 32, 33 counting the
episode where Brigadier General Frank Savage is shot down/killed and
Paul Burke takes over as the bomber group commanding officer) as it is.
I cannot afford the $100-to-$300 price a certain online seller has it for.
I personally think that is ridiculous even if it's excellent quality or in HD
(and overcharging at that. But the studios are just as bad if not worse).

Thanks for listening.

I believe they are working on a remastered blu-ray version of Lost In Space next year for the shows 50th Anniversary.
