How badly did TVLand edit their shows? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I'm curious how badly most TVLand shows were edited back in the day? I'm curious mainly about Get Smart, All in The Family, Lucy, big named ones.

TV Land is still doing the same thing online. Here's a great example using an episode of "I Love Lucy" called "Bonus Bucks". This is how TV Land is presenting the full episode without commercials on their website:

"I Love Lucy" - Video 1

Now here is the same episode the way you might see it on DVD. Note the big difference in length.

I'm only familiar with how Three's Company has been treated on TVLand, I have the entire series on DVD and each original episode would run at 23 minutes.

When it moved onto syndication with edits they would run at 21 minutes, but now TVLand aires them and now each episode runs at 19 minutes but that's only because their sped up.

What adds insult to injury is "off the clock" scheduling not to show full-length shows but to add even more commercials.

The TV Land commercial breaks are out of control. I am so glad we now have Antenna TV, Me-TV, Retro and Cozi as options. TV Land was great in the day and so was Nick at Nite. Now I consider them as an afterthought when channel surfing (and desperate!).

Tvland is not same as it was in early 2000 when they used to show classic commercials. and those off the clock stuff wasn't used either. as the shows start and end on time.

18 minutes was the total length of a TV land episode 12 years ago

Today it's probably 16
