Default Looks like ABC never gave the show a chance to succeed

Finishing off the TC Book and I read that the show remained on Tuesday Nights opposite the A-Team which already had put a dent in Three's Company in season 8. So why even put this TAC on Tuesday since it was a new show when they could have moved the show to another night?

I'm guessing it was to fill in Three's Company's old timeslot, around that time ABC were debuting Who's The Boss to make it an hour of comedy.

The last season of TC was already losing viewers to the A-team so why put a new show in the same slot?

^ I guess to lure viewers who didn't like The A-Team, I wasn't that big of an A-Team fan so I devoted watching TAC too bad it didn't work.

But it just seemed odd that they would pair it up with the show that caused the original show to lose viewers lol

IF three's comp[any couldn't compete with the A-team you know TAC wasn't going to be able to compete LOL

Well actually TC never went up against the A-Team. I think it ran against Riptide. The A-Team had killed Happy Days during that season. But it was on the same night and there's no doubt that the A-Team was responsible for ABC's woes on Tuesdays in the early 80's. TAC wasn't paired with WTB in the beginning. It was paired with Foul Ups Bleeps & Blunders. I remember thinking this lineup was horrible. TAC was the only show on ABC Tuesday that I was interested in at the time.

I'm guessing that Jack and Vicky would have moved into a house in season 2 after living over the bistro during season 1

LOL

Don't know if it was mentioned but on the E! THS John Ritter stated that TAC was eventually knocked out of the schedule so that ABC can bring over Diff'rent Strokes for an 8th season which had just been cancelled by NBC.

So let's lay the blame on Gary Coleman, god rest his soul.

Yea I heard that too. Another poor decision made by ABC at the time. DS was dead. TAC was getting around the same ratings that WTB got that year. WTB became a top 10 hit the following year.

I am guessing Vicky would have married Jack that next season. But John Ritter didn't want to be picked up as a mid-season debut with only 13 eps lol
