The Cold Case Files episode "A Map To Murder" profiled Maury Travis, who killed many women in the basement of his home, in what was essentially a torture chamber. Travis was eventually caught and hanged himself before his trial could begin.
Well as it turns out, his mother still owns the house and has neglected to tell renters about its gruesome past. (a crime in some states, though apparently not in Missouri, where this takes place). The most recent renter was able to get her lease lifted though, although it took some effort: http://abcnews.go.com/US/woman-found...ry?id=24467447 This is leading news at the top of the hour on CNN and HLN. |

I remember that episode very well because of the videos. There was an exchange between Travis and a victim in which Travis forced the woman to apologize to her children for "getting in a car with a ***** she didn't know". It was absolutely horrifying and infuriating at the same time.
I cannot believe the woman has just been renting out the place seemingly without a single thought in regard to what happened there. |

He was a monster indeed. Reminds me a lot of BTK. He had said on one of the videos regarding one victim "Name: Don't know, don't give a ****"
Good riddance to him. |

I live about 50 miles outside of Missouri and actually work in St. Louis and this has been big news around here. I will never forget the heinous crimes that Maury Travis committed.

And it's happening again right now. MAGIC!'s "Rude" is one of the best songs of the decade (one Palmer would probably enjoy) and it's spending it's second week in the runner-up position behind Iggy Azalea's utterly inane "Fancy". |

![]() Now I have 'I Didn't Mean to Turn You On' stuck in my head!. Besides his own original stuff, I like most of the covers he's done more than the originals, haha. 'Can We Still Be Friends?' (and I love Todd Rundgren), 'Let's Get it On', Some Guys Have All the Luck, etc.I actually hadn't heard 'Rude' yet (I am so bad with listening to the radio these days, haha) but I checked it out on YT and I completely agree that it's one he'd enjoy . . . totally his type! |
