I think TVLand botched the tribute to Ann B. Davis - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I say this because, to be fair, TVLand did air a nice little tribute for her. My problem is they showed the same episodes over and over again. You mean to tell me that Alice was only the central figure in 5 or 6 episodes? What kind of tribute is it if you have a 6 hour or whatever it was marathon and show the same ones over and over again. You didnt see that with the Hazel Mother's Day marathon, nor will you see it for the Father Knows Best, Father's Day Marathon.

TV Land has done very few tributes so IMO showing any episodes of Alice was more than they generally do.

Some episodes of "Love That Bob" would have been nifty, because Davis was really terrific in that. However, I don't know if the series has ever even been re-mastered to modern standards. I'm guessing not. A few public-domain episodes circulate, but they tend to be late in the series run, and the prints obviously would be sub-par. I thought the earlier seasons were actually funnier, anyway. Davis had a lot of good episodes revolving around her Schultzy character.

The skimpy tribute doesn't surprise me. If the Brady Bunch &/or Love That Bob were on Antenna, there would have probably been a day long marathon--or even more. When Davey Jones died, Antenna showed the ENTIRE Monkees series--29 hour marathon! Now that's the kind of Tribute Ann deserved.
