wiseguy182 is proud to present his latest set: a 31 disc City Confidential set.
This is the first set of this show to be presented in the trading circuit. Each episode of City Confidential focuses on an American city and presents a history of the city as well as a (in)famous crime that occured there, and how it affected the community. You get to hear from the players in the case, the investigators and the attorneys, and in regards to the city, you get to hear from local celebrities, town historians, news reporters and townsfolk (both prominent and otherwise). The show also features picteresque imagery as the the scenes from the local attractions are discussed, and hilariously pithy commentary from the wonderful Paul Winfield (and later, by Keith David). Here is a sampling of episodes: There are 124 episodes in this collection (including a few double-length episodes I count as 2) SoHo: The Art of Murder ~ In 1985, Revoluationary Cuban artist Ana Mendieta falls to her death from her 34th floor apartment in the Manhattan district of Soho. Suicide, accident, or was her husband, minimalist sculptor Carl Andre responsible? Philadelphia: Double Dutch Bust: ~ Frankie Smith is scammed out of profits of his 1981 hit song "Double Dutch Bus" by a dentist who doubles as the area's largest drug dealer. Bigfork: Silent Night, Deadly Night: ~ a local businessman is killed by wheelchair racing champion Ted Ernst. Aspen: Murder On The Slopes ~ singer and actress Claudine Longet kills her champion skiier boyfriend Spyder Sabich. San Antonio: Maximum Justice ~ Woody Harrelson's father kills a local judge. Reading, MA: Fatal Blow ~ a man is killed over a dispute involving a children's hockey game Hermosa Beach: Missing In Paradise ~ model Linda Sobek is killed by a star photographer who worked for many magazines. Gibston: The Last Side Show ~ in this carnie town, a man known as "Lobster Boy" for his pincher-like hands is killed. Virigina City: Showdown At The Mustang Ranch: ~ The city that was the setting for the long-running and popular show Bonanza, also featured a brothel that kept the local economy afloat. Greenwich: Who Killed Martha Moxley? ~ The prosperous community of Greenwich is visited by murder as Martha Moxley is killled, and local youths connected to the Kennedys are suspected. I loved watching this show. The narrator had a very nice voice to tell a murder story. Where did you get the set? I'd love one.
