In the episode where Patty and Richard are pen pals without knowing,, when Patty tells the family at the table that she is communicating with a stranger and will meet him, that no one even thinks this is strange or stops her. Imagine that story line today on a TV show in a world where kids meet up with serial killers when they communicate with strangers online.
In the episode Patty the Clairvoyant, Martin has to keep his wife in the dark about something affecting their daughter. If my husband kept me in the dark about something concerning our kids, I'd kill him.
