Default 15 years ago this fall; City Guys and Manny High gets a School Radio Station; WMNE

Hey guys,

15 years ago this fall

Wesley Jonathan and Scott Whyte were back for their 2nd consecutive season as Jamal Grant and Chris Anderson also known as the title role to City Guys a series from the Producer of the Saved by the Bell Franchise and California Dreams

and joining them once again were Caitlin Mowrey as Dawn Tartikoff, Dion Basco as Alberto "Al" Ramos, Marissa Dyan as Dawn's Best Friend Cassidy Giuliani, Steven Daniel as Al's Best Friend Lionel "L-Train" Johnson
and Marcella Lowery as Manhattan High School Principal Karen Coretta Noble

also, returning for a recurring role once again is Ivory Ocean as Jamal's Dad and New York Diner Owner Virgil Grant

Beginning with the 2nd Episode of the 2nd Season, the school gets back their old Radio Station WMNE 109.7 FM

The City Guys were the DJ's for WMNE Radio and Dawn was the Station Manager and the Inside the Station even featured pictures as well as a Picture of Principal Noble Herself

They even had one episode where they competed against WFAK

and now, here are episodes of City Guys

The only episode that I liked was the "Over The Speed Limit". I am glad the whole gang proved to Karen Noble that they are disciplining their friend Cassidy on not taking drugs during her acting. Karen Noble appreciate the whole gang and she proves to the public she is a no-nonsense faculty in this show. I like that. The other episodes were dreadful and this show is trying to be like Martin, Living Single, The Jamie Foxx Show and The Parkers imitators.

I like City Guys just fine myself. I don't quite see it as an imitator of Martin or Living Single, etc. but I guess I can see some comparisons- except that the friends in those shows are older than the kids on this show. So I think of it a bit differently on that- this is a high school sitcom- and obviously "Saved By The Bell" kinda set that trend in the '90s- but it had been around for a good while before that- "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis" could count toward that trend- probably because it was originally meant to be a series based on Archie Comics and the Riverdale High School gang.
But I love most of these high school sitcoms- so I don't have an issue with it.

I'm with you, I LOVE City Guys and yes, I do not see it as an imitator to Martin, Living Single or The Parkers

Every episode of City Guys was TRULY MUST SEE TV and it taught people like me a lot about life's issues

City Guys took the style from other Peter Engel Shows like Saved by the Bell and California Dreams as well as other shows like The Archies and Happy Days

and I, too LOVE High School Sitcoms

The reason why City Guys is like Martin, Living Single, The Jamie Foxx Show and The Parker's is because most info in each show talk about annihilation and they have five seasons each. I know City Guys is good, but not perfect, unfortunately, Wesley Jonathan, Steven Daniel, Marcella Lowry and Alex Morris moved to new projects, Scott Wythe and Dion Biasco either retired or taking a long hiatus from acting and Caitlin Mowry and Marissa Dyan either moved to soaps or got fired from acting. This show is never going to be on DVD at all.
