I used to watch this show all the time when I was a kid. I bought the season 1 dvd a few months ago and was a little disappointed. It's not a bad show, but I remember liking it a lot more when it was still on the air. I'd probably watch it if it aired on tv but I won't spend anymore money on season sets.

That's interesting. I actually still love watching it. Since the sets started coming out, I have even seen several episodes I had not seen before and found them just as good. It's one of those shows that still makes me laugh.

Ohh, I totally agree! I wish ION would pick it up. I taped the Christmas episode they showed last December and made me hopeful that they would start showing it.

As for the original question, I still love the show. I loved it as a kid, but I don't think I really understood the humor. Now as an adult, I can really appreciate it more.

I watched and taped some of the shows but it doesn't seem as good as I remembered it being.

I'm taping some of the shows too.

Maybe it doesn't seem as good to you because you're older and seeing it in a different light. I know that's how I feel about Good Times. I love the show and still watch reruns, but I wonder what made me watch it back in the 70's because some of the acting seems so ridiculous now.

I suppose thats it. There are a couple of other shows that I liked better when they first aired and now don't seem nearly as good to me. Like Mork & Mindy for one.

Theres a few shows I liked as a kid that I wonder what ever kept my interest. Ten years ago I was in the hospital and the only channel I could get on the tv had a Good Times marathon on it. It might have been because that was all I had to watch but I ended up loving the show, recently tried to watch it again and am trying to figure out what I liked about it! Kate and Allie as a kid was boring to me, but I enjoy the show now.

I have seasons 1 to 3. The show does get better, as do most after their initial season. Although I had more favourite shows, Kate & Allie is one that instantly takes me back to my old house in the 80s. I wouldn't mind picking up the 4th season at some point.
