Thumbs up

What a good show this is......... (OR WAS)

I remember seeing the LAST SHOW 1 time where they are finally found and brought home but I dont ever recall seeing THE FIRST SHOW!!

I assume they set sail in Episode #1 and struck something so they had to come ashore on that island?? (Must have been quite hard for them!!)

Their tiny ship was tossed in a bad storm and they crashed on the island. And the rest is history!

When the first pilot aired, the one called "The Lost Pilot", the professor, Ginger, and Mary Ann's character (noted as Bunny) were different actors. There was a different theme as well. When the producers finally agreed to do the show, they said the Professor, Ginger and Bunny did not rate highly and wanted them replaced. They hired three new actors and used as much from the pilot as they could. The editor told Schwartz (creator) that with the editing, they would be loosing the part that explained how they arrived on the island. Schwartz decided to explain that in a new theme song.

Episode #1 starts with the Minnow already shipwrecked on the island and all aboard are asleep. Skipper and Gilligan are the first to wake up.

I don't know if the pilot was ever aired. I would like to see it.

But maybe that professor would have been able to fix the boat.
