the real "Chris" today
As most of you Lucy-philes know, The Lucy Show's premise was based on the late humorist Irene Kampen's book, "Life Without George" (which is now out of print). Kampen wrote the book based on her own experiences adjusting to post-marriage life and co-habitating. But she only had one child in real-life, with the same name as the daugter on the show, Christine. Dr. Christine Guthrie made quite a success of herself in the field of cancer research on microbiology. She has her own research lab, and is on the faculty of the University of California, SF. She's probably close to 70 today. You can do a search under her name (with the word cancer) to find a photo.
